A TASTE OF IMPROV (REGISTRATIONS CLOSED)
26 February 2019 @ 20:30 - 22:30
Theatrical improvisation (improv) is a form of theatre where everything happening on stage is unscripted and made up on the spot. Improvisers rely on a set of principles necessary to “create something out of nothing”: always accepting and building on your partner’s ideas (“yes, and …”), making your partner shine, failing happily etc. These same principles can greatly enhance empathy, openness and effective communication when applied in real life.
In this session, we will practice together some of these principles through games and simple exercises. We will laugh, play and be silly, say “YES!”, experience the importance of active listening and practice letting go of our preconceptions (both for ourselves and for others). In the end, you will hopefully leave the room with a big smile, a passion for learning more and a few tools you can use to communicate and collaborate better with people outside of your field and academia.
Excited already? Then register through this form: tinyurl.com/yaf8vfd5. Participation is free but limited to 15 participants per session on a first-come, first-served basis upon mandatory registration. Please do not register if you are not sure about coming as that will prevent other people to join (no-shows for unforeseen circumstances will be understood).
Once you complete the short registration form, you will not receive a confirmation email right away but you can assume you were registered. You will receive an email with a confirmation and more information about the event once the spots are almost filled.

Looking forward to seeing you.
